C57BL/6 Mouse Skeletal Muscle Cells
Introduction
Skeletal muscle, also known as striated muscle, is a type of muscle that accounts for approximately 40% of total body weight. It is primarily distributed in the limbs. Each skeletal muscle is an organ with a specific shape, structure, and function, richly supplied with blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. Under the control of somatic nerves, skeletal muscles contract or relax to perform voluntary movements. At the cellular level, skeletal muscle cells (fibers) are elongated and non-branching, characterized by prominent transverse striations and multiple nuclei located just beneath the sarcolemma (cell membrane).
OriCell™ C57BL/6 Mouse Skeletal Muscle Cells are isolated from the muscle tissues of the limbs. After 3 days of primary isolation and culture, the cells can be observed adhering to the culture surface and spreading. They vary in size and shape, presenting as spindle-shaped, irregular, triangular, or fan-shaped, with oval nuclei located centrally.

General Handing Principles
- Maintain strict aseptic technique. Ensure complete sterility throughout all procedures, particularly within the laminar flow hood and incubator.
- Follow standardized protocols. Adhere strictly to the product manual. Implement rigorous control over experimental variables and include appropriate parallel controls.
- Use high-quality consumables and reagents. This product requires culture vessels suitable for adherent cell growth, and the reuse of these vessels is not recommended. The reagents used must be validated for reliability, cell compatibility, and batch-to-batch consistency.
- Prioritize low-passage cells. Since OriCell™ C57BL/6 Mouse Skeletal Muscle Cells have limited ability to proliferate in vitro (typically up to 3 passages), we recommend using low-passage cells for research applications.
- Optimize seeding density and subculture. The recommended seeding density for OriCell™ C57BL/6 Mouse Skeletal Muscle Cells is (2.5–4) × 10⁴ viable cells/cm². Since cell growth is highly dependent on donor characteristics and culture conditions, we recommend adjusting the split ratios based on the actual performance of each specific lot and passage.
