Introduction
L-Glutamine is an essential amino acid for cell growth, involved in protein synthesis and nucleic acid metabolism. It supports the growth of cells with high energy demands and those synthesizing large amounts of proteins and nucleic acids. It can serve as an alternative energy source for rapidly dividing cells and cells that cannot efficiently utilize glucose.
L-Glutamine is very stable in dry powder and frozen solution forms but is unstable in aqueous solution. Its degradation rate varies depending on storage time, temperature, and the pH of the storage environment. Optimal cell performance usually requires adding L-glutamine supplements to the culture medium just before use.
