Vero African Green Monkey Kidney Cell Line
Introduction
The African green monkey kidney cell line (Vero) was established by Y. Yasumura and Y. Kawakita at Chiba University in Japan. It is derived from the kidney of a normal adult African green monkey. On June 15, 1964, when B. Simizu brought the Vero cells from Chiba University to the Laboratory of Tropical Virology at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID/NIH), the cells had reached the 93rd passage. The Vero cell line is widely used in the study of recombinant viruses and cytopathic effects (CPE).
OriCell™ Vero African Green Monkey Kidney Cell Line has undergone rigorous validation to ensure superior adherence and stable proliferation across passages. Beyond its consistent morphology, this cell line is characterized by a rapid doubling time and robust genetic integrity throughout extended culture. Most importantly, it maintains high viral susceptibility, making it an ideal host for demanding viral amplification and high-throughput antiviral screening. Our stringent quality control—guaranteed free from mycoplasma, bacteria, and fungi—ensures exceptional reproducibility and data integrity for your research.

General Handling Principles
- Maintain strict aseptic technique. Ensure complete sterility throughout all procedures, particularly within the laminar flow hood and incubator.
- Follow standardized protocols. Adhere strictly to the product manual. Implement rigorous control over experimental variables and include appropriate parallel controls.
- Use high-quality consumables and reagents. This product requires culture vessels suitable for adherent cell growth, and the reuse of these vessels is not recommended. The reagents used must be validated for reliability, cell compatibility, and batch-to-batch consistency.
Warm Notice: The cryopreservation medium of this product contains DMSO, which may pose potential risks. Please handle it with care.
