MC38 Mouse Colon Cancer Cell Line with Luciferase & GFP
Introduction
The MC38 mouse colon cancer cell line was derived from colon tumor tissue of C57BL/6 mice that had been chronically exposed to the carcinogen DMH (1,2-dimethylhydrazine dihydrochloride). MC38 cells exhibit epithelial-like morphology, grow adherently, and are capable of forming subcutaneous tumors.
MC38 is commonly used in colon cancer research. When implanted into C57BL/6 mice or immunodeficient mice, MC38 cells form tumors and can metastasize, making them widely used for studies on colorectal cancer initiation and metastasis.
OriCell™ MC38 Mouse Colon Cancer Cell Line with Luciferase & GFP is a stable cell line that constitutively expresses both luciferase and green fluorescent protein. It was generated by transducing the parental MC38 cell line with a lentiviral vector harboring the luciferase and GFP genes. This modified line serves as an optimized tool for a wide range of in vivo and in vitro applications requiring precise cellular tracking and visualization.

General Handling Principles
- Maintain strict aseptic technique. Ensure complete sterility throughout all procedures, particularly within the laminar flow hood and incubator.
- Follow standardized protocols. Adhere strictly to the product manual. Implement rigorous control over experimental variables and include appropriate parallel controls.
- Use high-quality consumables and reagents. This product requires culture vessels suitable for adherent growth, and the reuse of these vessels is not recommended. The reagents used must be validated for reliability, cell compatibility, and batch-to-batch consistency.
Warm Notice: The cryopreservation medium of this product contains DMSO, which may pose potential risks. Please handle it with care.
