Introduction

The mouse testicular epithelial cell line (15P-1) is derived from the testicular cells of transgenic mice expressing the polyomavirus large T antigen (PyLT) in the seminiferous epithelium. It has been reported that 15P-1 cultures exhibit phagocytic activity, as demonstrated by the endocytosis of latex beads and the clearance of dead cells. Moreover, 15P-1 cells can produce protease-sensitive substances with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity.
